Bill Smugs
Real name Bill Cunningham, Bill is a secret agent in the "Adventure" books. He first befriends the children in "Island of Adventure", and pretends to be a bird watcher. Despite being involved in top secret missions chasing dangerous criminals, he still finds time to help the children out in each of their adventures, and eventually to marry Philip and Dinah's mother, Mrs Mannering, too.
