Kidz Books Poetry Competition

The winning poems are as follows. Under 14s winner:

Summer
Flowers are in bloom
Holidays are here right now
Barbecues smell great

by Adil Sher

Over 14s winner:

Winter weather's always foul,
Cold and rain just make me scowl,
November mists are not for me
Nor days so dark by half past three.

So light the fire, toast a crumpet.
Wear cosy cardies, be a frump, it
Doesn't matter how you look.
Stay in , keep warm and read a book.

Carol concert, nativity play,
Ice skating on the Tiernsee,
Christmas in Innsbruck with Brent-Dyer
While you stay cosy by the fire.

by Berwyn Peet
